Mr Ertan Erel is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon currently working privately in London region. His main practice in London is rhinoplasty and body contouring procedures. He was a full time NHS consultant at University Hospitals of North Midlands until April 2023.
He graduated from Aegean University, Izmir, Turkey and worked in the Turkish National Health Service before moving to UK. He completed his junior surgical training in East Yorkshire. He has performed a year of full-time research within the field of plastic surgery and was awarded the degree of Master of Science by the University College London.
He has completed his plastic surgery training in West Midlands Region and obtained an Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery (FRCS Plast). His fellowships include cosmetic surgery in Istanbul and microsurgery in Gent, Izmir and Cambridge.
Mr Erel has extensive research portfolio, having published 26 papers in peer reviewed journals and 50 presentations at both national and international meetings. He has written a chapter in a plastic surgery book called “Breast Reconstruction: Art, Science, And New Clinical Technique”, 2016. He regularly writes plastic surgery articles in Turkish newspapers published in UK.
Mr Erel is a member of BAPRAS, Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (TSAPS) and Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He is at the editorial board for the Turkish Plastic Surgery Journal.
His special interests in the NHS was breast reconstruction, with particular emphasis on perforator free flap (DIEP flap) in the microsurgical reconstruction of the breast, complex septo-rhinoplasty (joint cases with ENT surgeons) and skin cancer.
Mr Erel’s interests include all aspects of aesthetic facial (rhinoplasty -piazitome), breast and body contouring surgery. Examples of private operations he performs include breast augmentation and revision surgery, mastopexy, breast reduction, fat grafting (bottocks), abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, thigh reduction, liposuction, body contouring following massive weight loss (extended abdominoplasty) septorhinoplasty, prominent ear correction, and skin surgery as well as non-operative procedures like Botox and fillers. He uses bodytite, neck/facetite and morpheous 8 as an adjunct to liposuction and skin rejuvenation and tightening procedures.
