Surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia. The incision is placed in the inframammary fold, around the peri-areola or vertically, depending on your anatomy and previous surgery. The old implant and surrounding scar tissue are removed and a new pocket is created for the replacement implant.

Most patients stay overnight after implant replacement. Soreness can last up to six weeks, during which a supportive bra is worn and strenuous activity avoided.
