CONVENTIONAL VARICOSE VEIN TREATMENT IN LONDON
SUPPORT STOCKINGS
Compression stockings can be used to give temporary relief to varicose veins and the associated symptoms. They are elasticated stockings that are tighter at the foot and gradually loosen towards the top. The main concept is to help improve circulation from the legs and back to the heart. Support stockings are usually worn during the day, and the level of compression will depend on the symptoms being experienced. Even though they may relieve pain, tiredness, and heaviness in the leg, the varicose veins will still be there.
VARICOSE VEIN PROCEDURE
For a more permanent solution, a conventional procedure on the varicose veins may be suggested. During the operation at our cosmetic treatment clinic, small incisions of not more than 2 inches will be made in the groin crease, followed by smaller ones in the knees or ankles. On top of that, more micro-incisions may be made along the leg between the initial cuts to facilitate the extraction of smaller varicose veins.
OTHER CONVENTIONAL VEIN TREATMENT
Bulging surface veins can also be removed through multiple stab avulsions or phlebectomy. The veins are removed via small cuts (not more than 3 millimetres) along the surface of the skin after local anaesthesia has been administered. A hook is then inserted into one of the incisions, and the vein is hooked and removed, piece by piece.
Like the traditional varicose veins’ treatment, this is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require stitches afterward and has a short recovery period. In most cases, phlebectomy is done with other vein treatments for the best results. Compression stockings will also be provided at the clinic that you should wear during recovery.
